The Cowboys lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Chip Trayanum; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 103 spots ahead at the 171st overall pick. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Mondon Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
