The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cowboys and Howard: D.

The Cowboys lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Oben to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They banked enough surplus on Howard to cover a lot of smaller sins. They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
