Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Packers: B-.

Priorities are a choice, and the Packers made a strange one, taking Cole Bishop at safety in pick No. 125 with cornerback, quarterback and other spots crying out for the pick instead. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. The Braswell steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

If Randolph Jr. pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
A reasonable price with a little left over, Amarius Mims in slot 25. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick41 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
Chris Braswell is a better player than pick 41 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks at slot 57 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick88 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
They took Marist Liufau at par in the 88th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick91 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
A straight-up fair deal on Tykee Smith at Round 3, Pick 28, value and slot in agreement. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick125 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
Of all the spots to shop, they chose safety. Cole Bishop in the Round 4 slot leaves cornerback, quarterback and other spots for later.
Pick135 Rnd4 Keith Randolph Jr.
A reach for Keith Randolph Jr. in No. 135; a little patience would have been rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
