There is conviction, and then there is this. The Lions took Fadil Diggs a full 100 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

Emmanwori at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.
