There is conviction, and then there is this. The Commanders took LT Overton a full 21 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Getting Haulcy where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
