The Bills did not so much draft Dallas Gant as overpay for him, 56 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Bills had louder needs to answer first. For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Johnson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
