saaaaaaaaaaaagh DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
C+
ValueB+
NeedB
TradesF
FutureA+
A costly weekend of dealing drags the Seahawks to a C+. There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Seahawks started one anyway for KJ Jefferson, 113 picks ahead of schedule. The final tally is a middling C+.
However the rest shakes out, Barron at that price is a win they earned. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.
If Jahdae Barron and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick66
Rnd3
Jahdae Barron
Somehow Jahdae Barron was still sitting there in the 66th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick80
Rnd3
Smael Mondon Jr.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick 80 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick102
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in the Round 4 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick121
Rnd4
Deontae Lawson
Taking Deontae Lawson in the 121st pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick136
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at pick No. 136 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick173
Rnd5
KJ Jefferson
They reached a country mile for KJ Jefferson at Round 5, Pick 35, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick191
Rnd6
Gunnar Helm
Gunnar Helm slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the tight end. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick210
Rnd6
Logan Parr
Logan Parr at Round 6, Pick 35 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick230
Rnd7
Garrett Dellinger
They went early on Garrett Dellinger in slot 230, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
