You build a draft on nights like this. Cody Simon had no business being available in Round 7, Pick 2, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

The whole projection now runs through Shedeur Sanders; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

Simpkins III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

So much rides on Shedeur Sanders that the real verdict is a season or two away.
