A costly weekend of dealing drags the 49ers to a D-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Jimmy Horn Jr. in the 232nd pick. Put together, it is a D-.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Landing Mafah that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

On the needs board they went 7 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
