Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B-.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Bears committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

The Reiman pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Walker value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick30 Rnd1 Jackson Powers-Johnson
In pick 30 they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick62 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe in slot 62 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick75 Rnd3 Brandon Dorlus
No edge and no loss on Brandon Dorlus in Round 3, Pick 11; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick113 Rnd4 Devontez Walker
Steal is underselling it; Devontez Walker at No. 113 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick122 Rnd4 Tip Reiman
A big swing on Tip Reiman at the Round 4 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick130 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
Ainias Smith in pick No. 130 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
