Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesB FutureA+
The Vikings cashed the board's mistake on Jones: B+.

The board owed the Vikings one, and it paid up: Jarrian Jones, the No. 149 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 6 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. They will need Milton III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
No drama and no debate, Chris Braswell went about where he belonged in slot 37. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65 Rnd3 T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at the 65th overall pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick78 Rnd3 Bralen Trice
The board had Bralen Trice higher than pick No. 78, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick84 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jaylen Wright in No. 84. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109 Rnd4 Malik Washington
They read the board right and Malik Washington was the payoff at the 109th pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick130 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
Nice patience on Tyler Davis, who had no business lasting to the Round 4 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick156 Rnd5 Kalen King
Kalen King slid further than he should have, and pick 156 is lovely value for the cornerback. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick166 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kitan Oladapo at Round 5, Pick 30 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick179 Rnd6 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at pick 179 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick183 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper in the Round 6 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick190 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
A conviction pick on Joe Milton III at the 190th overall pick that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick202 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
Caedan Wallace at slot 202 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick256 Rnd7 Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones in pick No. 256 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
