The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Raiders reached some 164 spots for Tommy Mellott, and value like that does not grow back. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Alexander falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
