The Commanders did not so much draft Pat Coogan as overpay for him, 28 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. The Commanders indulged a want in Styles while a need in tight end, edge rusher and other spots stayed open.

Getting Anderson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
