Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
Jones should have been long gone. The Cowboys pounced, and earned a B+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jarrian Jones at Round 6, Pick 41 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.

They are betting Logue proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Graham Barton
In pick No. 26 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
A reach on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in Round 2, Pick 24; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick87 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
A tidy bit of business in the 87th overall pick, where Jaylen Wright graded well above the range. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick92 Rnd3 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at No. 92 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick174 Rnd5 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara in the 174th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick216 Rnd6 Jarrian Jones
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 216 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick233 Rnd7 Zion Logue
Value said wait; Zion Logue in slot 233 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick244 Rnd7 Evan Anderson
Evan Anderson at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
