The 49ers let Torrence fall into their laps, and walked away with a D-.

The 49ers did not so much draft Luke McCaffrey as overpay for him, 55 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.

That Torrence pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
