shm6! DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B-. The move everyone will second-guess came early. The 49ers reached some 43 spots for Jaylen Reed, and value like that does not grow back.
However the rest shakes out, Majors at that price is a win they earned. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In the 11th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
They jumped the gun on Alfred Collins, taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick75
Rnd3
Tai Felton
By-the-book stuff, Tai Felton at pick No. 75 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke at Round 3, Pick 35 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick112
Rnd4
Cody Simon
Cody Simon at No. 112 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick138
Rnd4
Jaylen Reed
Jaylen Reed in pick 138 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick139
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Steal is underselling it; Jake Majors at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
