A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B-.

Some picks age like wine; Tanner McLachlan at No. 153 will need to, sitting 55 spots clear of his grade. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

The Gore Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

In the 31st overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.

Ruke Orhorhoro in No. 63 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Javon Foster at slot 96 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

A tidy bit of business in the 127th pick, where Elijah Jones graded well above the range. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

Jamari Thrash in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
