Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B+
ValueA- NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureA-
Grand theft in the Round 6 slot: the 49ers steal Singleton and grade out a B+.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Nicholas Singleton tumbling to the 49ers in the 186th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

If Brosmer pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
Kelvin Banks Jr. at pick No. 12 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick49 Rnd2 Shavon Revel Jr.
The board fumbled Shavon Revel Jr. all the way to No. 49, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick75 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
They robbed the room for Dylan Fairchild here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick100 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors at Round 3, Pick 36 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick112 Rnd4 Gunnar Helm
Gunnar Helm at slot 112 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick137 Rnd4 Lathan Ransom
You do not let a safety like Lathan Ransom reach the Round 4 slot and blink. They did not. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick168 Rnd5 Chris Paul Jr.
They will replay Chris Paul Jr. at the 168th pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick186 Rnd6 Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton at the 186th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick190 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 190 is lovely value for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick226 Rnd7 Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith at pick No. 226 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick230 Rnd7 Max Brosmer
Max Brosmer in the 230th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick249 Rnd7 Nick Nash
Nick Nash at the Round 7 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick254 Rnd7 Jonah Monheim
They barely believed it either: Jonah Monheim still on the board at the 254th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
