Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureC+
Good, not great, for the 49ers: B-.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the 49ers started one anyway for Davison Igbinosun, 39 picks ahead of schedule. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

However the rest shakes out, Ferguson at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Will Campbell
Will Campbell in slot 11 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick36 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
They let Kenneth Grant come to them and pounced at the 36th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick No. 43 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick100 Rnd3 Deontae Lawson
The board fumbled Deontae Lawson all the way to Round 3, Pick 36, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick112 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. in pick 137 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick172 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Davison Igbinosun well ahead of where he belonged. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick186 Rnd6 Seth McLaughlin
Seth McLaughlin at slot 186 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick230 Rnd7 Terrance Ferguson
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Terrance Ferguson in the 230th pick, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
