Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Sadiq should have been long gone. The 49ers pounced, and earned a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The 49ers watched Kenyon Sadiq slide 39 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The Miller pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick No. 27 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Kenyon Sadiq in Round 2, Pick 26, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick92 Rnd3 Blake Miller
A real head-scratcher, Blake Miller in slot 92 is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick127 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
The board had Chase Bisontis higher than the Round 4 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick133 Rnd4 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels in pick 133 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick138 Rnd4 Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman at No. 138 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick171 Rnd5 Terion Stewart
They read the board right and Terion Stewart was the payoff at the 171st pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
