The jury is out on the 49ers. For now, C+.

The David Walker selection is the head-turner. The 49ers reached 97 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

Getting Monangai where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

No edge and no loss on Tyleik Williams in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
