A sensible, unshowy class lands the 49ers a B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The 49ers spent slot 112 on JJ Pegues, a name the board had a full 75 spots lower. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Getting Monangai where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Tyleik Williams in the 43rd pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

A real head-scratcher, Sai'vion Jones in pick 74 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.

The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Billy Bowman Jr.. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.

Jared Wilson at slot 99 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
