There is conviction, and then there is this. The 49ers took Bru McCoy a full 112 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Taylor at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
