The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Cam Skattebo had no business being available in the 139th overall pick, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

They are betting Ivey proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
