The 49ers went off the board in a big way for Jake Slaughter, 64 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

The Tyrann Mathieu pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
