You build a draft on nights like this. Luke Lachey had no business being available in pick 227, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

They will need Pegues to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
