Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the 49ers spent Round 4, Pick 38 on Tyler Batty, a name most had 87 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

They banked enough surplus on Mukuba to cover a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
