Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall

FutureB-
The 49ers won the night they stopped Tuten from sliding. Grade: B-. The 49ers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 157 name on the board, in No. 189. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Ouzts has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In the 11th overall pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. in pick No. 43 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick75
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins at the Round 3 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick99
Rnd3
Charles Grant
No drama and no debate, Charles Grant went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 35. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick112
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Jake Majors in No. 112 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick138
Rnd4
Lathan Ransom
Lathan Ransom in pick 138 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick139
Rnd4
Darius Alexander
A slide stopped in slot 139, with Darius Alexander worth more than the price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick189
Rnd6
Bhayshul Tuten
They will replay Bhayshul Tuten at the 189th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick228
Rnd7
Carson Vinson
A quiet steal in the Round 7 slot: Carson Vinson for less than the market said. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick232
Rnd7
Kitan Crawford
Kitan Crawford in the 232nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick255
Rnd7
Robbie Ouzts
Value said wait; Robbie Ouzts in pick 255 says they were not listening. It fills a real need, too.
