Overall B

No fireworks, just a tidy B for the 49ers.

The Barryn Sorrell selection is the head-turner. The 49ers reached 88 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

However the rest shakes out, Reid at that price is a win they earned. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In No. 11 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick43 Rnd2 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell at pick 43 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick75 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
A slide stopped in the 75th overall pick, with Quinshon Judkins worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick100 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Jayden Higgins in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick113 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in Round 4, Pick 11 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick138 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 138 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick147 Rnd5 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse in Round 5, Pick 9 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick160 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at pick No. 160 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick227 Rnd7 Barryn Sorrell
They left a pile of value on the table to take Barryn Sorrell this early at the 227th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick249 Rnd7 Karene Reid
Karene Reid at the 249th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick252 Rnd7 Moliki Matavao
They paid sticker price for Moliki Matavao in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
