The 49ers robbed the room for Thornton Jr.. Final grade: B-.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The 49ers watched Dont'e Thornton Jr. slide 53 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They will need Stackhouse to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

In pick 11 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.

Omarr Norman-Lott at the 75th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.

Charles Grant in the Round 3 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick113 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaylin Noel in No. 113. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick138 Rnd4 Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander slid further than he should have, and pick No. 138 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
