Larceny in No. 92 lands the 49ers a B, Tiernan and all.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the 49ers were there to profit. Caleb Tiernan, the No. 62 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 3 slot. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They are betting Zuhn III proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In pick 27 they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Pick58 Rnd2 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at Round 2, Pick 26 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick92 Rnd3 Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan in the 92nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick127 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
A slide stopped in the Round 4 slot, with Michael Trigg worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick133 Rnd4 Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at No. 133 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick138 Rnd4 Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis at slot 138 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick171 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
They reached a country mile for Trey Zuhn III at the 171st overall pick, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
