There is reaching, and then there is Jordan Hall at the 241st pick. The 49ers jumped the board by 31 and dared it to prove them wrong.

Miller at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will answer for taking cornerback early while running back, quarterback and other spots went begging.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
