You build a draft on nights like this. Johnny Wilson had no business being available in the 98th overall pick, and the 49ers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

If Chambers pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
