Draft Grade — Titans
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Titans left with their quarterback, and a D- to match.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Titans took Jalen Travis a full 44 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

Whatever Cam Ward becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick 1 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Luther Burden III
The board had Luther Burden III higher than the 35th pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick103 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Fair-plus on Kevin Winston Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick120 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cam Skattebo at the 120th overall pick is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick127 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant in No. 127 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick141 Rnd5 Tyler Baron
They paid up for Tyler Baron at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick167 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
No edge and no loss on Chase Lundt in pick 167; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick178 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Good price on Kyle Williams in Round 6, Pick 2, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
Pick184 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
They took JJ Pegues at par in slot 184, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick188 Rnd6 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at the 188th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jalen Travis
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jalen Travis in No. 245, miles early. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
