The 49ers torched the value chart for Taulia Tagovailoa, taking him 176 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

So much rides on Spencer Rattler that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Getting Alexander where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
