Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

The tape said wait; the 49ers did not. Iapani Laloulu went at the 125th overall pick, a good 34 picks before the board was ready.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
In pick No. 25 they get a load in the middle at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan at Round 2, Pick 25 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick89 Rnd3 Whit Weeks
Whit Weeks at the 89th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick125 Rnd4 Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at No. 125 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jacob Rodriguez. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick139 Rnd4 Jyaire Hill
By-the-book stuff, Jyaire Hill at pick 139 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick172 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Davison Igbinosun. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
