The Jaguars cashed the board's mistake on Hopper: B-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Ty'Ron Hopper tumbling to the Jaguars in the Round 6 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A fair-value weekend of trading, no edge to be found.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
In the 28th pick they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
No edge and no loss on Cooper Beebe in the Round 2 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick60 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac in pick No. 60 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick96 Rnd3 Jalen McMillan
They took Jalen McMillan at par in Round 3, Pick 33, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick114 Rnd4 DeWayne Carter
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and DeWayne Carter at No. 114 is the proof. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick116 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
They paid sticker price for Matt Goncalves in pick 116, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick153 Rnd5 Marcus Harris
A straight-up fair deal on Marcus Harris at slot 153, value and slot in agreement. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick212 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
Ty'Ron Hopper at the 212th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236 Rnd7 Drake Nugent
You do not let an offensive lineman like Drake Nugent reach slot 236 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
