Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B+
ValueA+

FutureA+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Bills and Thomas: B+. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Azareye'h Thomas, the No. 57 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 255th overall pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick Analysis
Pick33
Rnd2
Jahdae Barron
Circle this one: Jahdae Barron at No. 33 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick62
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Taking Nick Emmanwori in the 62nd overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick109
Rnd4
Walter Nolen
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Walter Nolen reach pick 109 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick132
Rnd4
Kenneth Grant
Somehow Kenneth Grant was still sitting there in pick No. 132, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick170
Rnd5
Ashton Jeanty
Ashton Jeanty at Round 5, Pick 32 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick173
Rnd5
Trey Amos
They will replay Trey Amos at the Round 5 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick177
Rnd6
Tre Harris
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 177 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick180
Rnd6
Armand Membou
The board fumbled Armand Membou all the way to the 180th pick, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206
Rnd6
Josaiah Stewart
Steal is underselling it; Josaiah Stewart at the 206th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255
Rnd7
Azareye'h Thomas
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Azareye'h Thomas in No. 255, plain and simple. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
