Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall A
ValueB+ NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Chargers won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A.

The Chargers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Xavier Legette fell into the 64th pick.

If Sinnott pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Tyler Linderbaum deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

In the end it comes back to Kool-Aid McKinstry, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick37 Rnd2 Kool-Aid McKinstry
A cornerback of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick64 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
They barely believed it either: Xavier Legette still on the board at pick No. 64. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick69 Rnd3 Kiran Amegadjie
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kiran Amegadjie at slot 69. The roster fit checks out.
Pick95 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They read the board right and Mike Sainristil was the payoff at the 95th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick105 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
They left a pile of value on the table to take Ben Sinnott this early at No. 105. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick132 Rnd4 Kris Abrams-Draine
Value with a capital V on Kris Abrams-Draine in the Round 4 slot, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 34 with a little surplus value in Tommy Eichenberg. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick142 Rnd5 Will Shipley
Will Shipley slipping to pick No. 142 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick183 Rnd6 McCallan Castles
McCallan Castles at the 183rd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick226 Rnd7 Jordan Magee
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Magee at pick 226 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
