The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bengals watched Jay Higgins slide 116 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had West lower, and that gap is the story.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
