Sethcald DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Grade — Packers

Phillips should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B. For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Packers walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If Dike pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Jahdae Barron
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a sticky cover corner, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
JT Tuimoloau
JT Tuimoloau in the 54th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick87
Rnd3
Chimere Dike
A reach on Chimere Dike in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick124
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
Jordan Phillips at the 124th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
