Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Raiders and Slaughter: A.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jake Slaughter at the 102nd overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They executed a plan and it shows in the A.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Rodriguez reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Mansoor Delane and all.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
In No. 27 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Joshua Josephs
A tidy little value on Joshua Josephs in pick 36, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Emmanuel Pregnon
They barely believed it either: Emmanuel Pregnon still on the board at Round 3, Pick 3. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick102 Rnd4 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
The board had cheaper options than J.C. Davis at the 117th overall pick, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jacob Rodriguez
They paid up for Jacob Rodriguez at the 135th pick when waiting would have done the job. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick176 Rnd5 Gracen Halton
Gracen Halton in pick No. 176 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
