Anthromench DRAFTING FOR THEEagles

Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall

ValueB

FutureB-
The Eagles kept it disciplined and banked a B-. There is a lot to like until you notice interior defensive lineman is still a hole. The Eagles never got to the one that mattered most. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
That Johnson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Quinyon Mitchell
In slot 16 they get a ballhawk on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50
Rnd2
Xavier Worthy
A reasonable price with a little left over, Xavier Worthy in the Round 2 slot. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick102
Rnd4
Gabriel Murphy
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at pick 102 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick120
Rnd4
Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray in Round 4, Pick 20 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick171
Rnd5
Cornelius Johnson
Value with a capital V on Cornelius Johnson in the 171st overall pick, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick210
Rnd6
Blake Watson
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Blake Watson at No. 210 is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
