Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Cowboys cashed the board's mistake on Stukes: B+.

You could see the war room lean forward. Treydan Stukes at the 112th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. If Fisher pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

The Cowboys clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
Value with a capital V on Arvell Reese in the 20th pick, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick27 Rnd1 Dillon Thieneman
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dillon Thieneman. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick49 Rnd2 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds at pick 49 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jacob Rodriguez
Nothing to complain about; Jacob Rodriguez went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92 Rnd3 Dontay Corleone
Somehow Dontay Corleone was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 28, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick112 Rnd4 Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick138 Rnd4 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III slipping to pick No. 138 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick152 Rnd5 Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III at No. 152 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick177 Rnd5 Jeff Caldwell
They paid a round early for Jeff Caldwell in slot 177, more than the board wanted. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick180 Rnd5 Dae'Quan Wright
The board had cheaper options than Dae'Quan Wright at No. 180, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick218 Rnd7 Aiden Fisher
Value said wait; Aiden Fisher in pick No. 218 says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
