A costly weekend of dealing drags the Cowboys to a D+.

The Cowboys bet big and early on Kedon Slovis, 89 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. It grades a D+, and the process earned it.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. It is not that Murphy is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Nix.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
