The Cowboys drew a line under the quarterback search with Maye: D.

The tape said wait; the Cowboys did not. Kedon Slovis went at the 216th pick, a good 87 picks before the board was ready. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

So much rides on Drake Maye that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The Maye value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
