Draft Grade — Lions
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB+ FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Lions, and a B to prove it.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Lions walked out of the weekend still thin at quarterback, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The Greenfield pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That Wiggins pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In No. 29 they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac at pick 61 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick73 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
No drama and no debate, Ja'Lynn Polk went about where he belonged in slot 73. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick164 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
They paid sticker price for Marist Liufau in the 164th pick, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick201 Rnd6 Trente Jones
They did well to land Trente Jones in the Round 6 slot, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick207 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in Round 6, Pick 32 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick253 Rnd7 Kalen DeLoach
A clean, defensible pick in the 253rd overall pick with a little surplus value in Kalen DeLoach. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
