Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall C
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles lost the trade table, and the C tells the story.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Eagles shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean at No. 26 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick50 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
By-the-book stuff, Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 50 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick51 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Good price on Cooper Beebe in slot 51, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick53 Rnd2 Adisa Isaac
Adisa Isaac at Round 2, Pick 21 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick87 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick120 Rnd4 Theo Johnson
They took Theo Johnson at par in the 120th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121 Rnd4 Johnny Wilson
No drama and no debate, Johnny Wilson went about where he belonged in pick 121. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick161 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in the Round 5 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick171 Rnd5 Kamal Hadden
Nothing to complain about; Kamal Hadden went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172 Rnd5 Braiden McGregor
Braiden McGregor in the 172nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick174 Rnd5 Khristian Boyd
They paid sticker price for Khristian Boyd in No. 174, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
