Washington should have been long gone. The Cardinals pounced, and earned a B-.

The Cardinals did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Malik Washington fell into Round 5, Pick 12. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Goncalves pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
