Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Packers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to quarterback, which was the need that mattered most.

Reaching for Taylor III left real value on the table behind him. Flournoy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In No. 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Edgerrin Cooper
Edgerrin Cooper at the 41st pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kingsley Suamataia
No drama and no debate, Kingsley Suamataia went about where he belonged in pick 58. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick88 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
No edge and no loss on Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 3, Pick 25; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 91 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
Mohamed Kamara at the 126th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini at slot 169 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick202 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
The board had cheaper options than Garret Greenfield at the Round 6 slot, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
Pick219 Rnd6 Ryan Flournoy
The board had Ryan Flournoy higher than slot 219, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick245 Rnd7 Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 7 slot is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick255 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal at No. 255 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
